Alright, well this new design has taken me much longer than I expected it to but its finally up. I guess thats what happens when you are trying to redesign your site on top of working, buying your first home, and your wife studying for a major board exam. The site is completely done for the most part, but I still have a few little small things that I’m planning on doing to tweak it over the next few days.
As you know I’ve always used Cutline up to this point when designing my blogs, but this time I chose to go ahead and customize the new Copyblogger theme that was recently released. Overall I’m pretty pleased with the way the site turned out and I think it looks much nicer and cleaner than my previous design. Now that I’ve got the new design out of the way, I plan to concentrate more on doing some quality blogging here and some other projects I’ve got going to try and bring in some revenue.
Anyway I’d really like to know what you think of the new design here, so leave me a comment with your honest opinion. I really don’t care if you want to trash my new design or anything, but just be sure to put the address of your site so I can check it out. Its amazing some of the people that will take shots at your hard work, yet they have nothing quality to show for themselves.

Hey Clarke,
Awesome job dude! I love the color scheme, and you did a super job with the graphics as well. My next design has some orange also, but it’s more subtle. This is really great-looking.
So, when are you gonna build a public theme? You’ve got the skills……….
Anthony,
Thanks for the kind words. I really liked the orange during the design process, so I decided to go with this look and feel.
I really would like to design a public theme and its something that I’ll probably look to do this fall…
Well done, Clarke, it looks beautiful.
There is something quite subtle about it. The orange is not too bold, the striping is gentle – an enhancement. I especially like the way it appears on the rollover of your menu buttons. Very cool. And a pretty honeycomb effect on the title bar.
All in all, it’s easy on the eyes. Not overcrowded, engagingly minimal.
And, how many people have told you you have a Steve Martin smile?
that’s a slick design!
I really like the top nav menu, and also the “bubbles” around the comments that alternates between 2 different colors, good stuff!
Rory,
Thanks I’m glad you like it. I spent a lot of time trying to work with the colors to really make sure that they looked good. All in all I worked pretty hard on this design concept so I’m pretty happy with it. In my opinion it looks so much better than my last design for this site.
Also, you are the first person to tell me that I’ve got a Steve Martin smile!
Jon,
Thanks for stopping by! I can take credit for everything except for the bubbles around the comments. They were a default feature of the copyblogger theme, but I did customize everything else. You are right though I love the way the they look, its definitely an added bonus.
Hi there. I’m new to your site and must say I love the Copyblogger customization! I don’t know if you’ve released a public theme or even a premium (paid) theme, but from the looks of it, you surely have the skills to do so. Keep up the great work!
Tracy
Hi Tracy,
Thanks for the kind words about my blog. I like trying to create a unique design for my blog. I haven’t released any public themes yet, but it’s definitely something that I look to start working on in the near future. Thanks for stopping by.
