Garth Brooks Almost Sells Out 9 Shows in a Few Hours

So I’m really not a country music fan, but I’ve always wanted to see a Garth Brooks concert.  I actually never figured that it would happen, until he announced he was going to play a show here in Kansas City on Nov 14.   I got my wristband for the lottery system on Thursday and this morning I was lucky enough to get tickets to one of his shows. Pretty much all of the 9 shows are sold out for the most part and it only took a few hours to do so so that’s pretty amazing.

I’ve got say I’ve got a tremendous amount of respect for the guy on the way that he handled tickets for this show for the following reasons.

  1. Ticket Prices  -  All tickets were no more than $32.50 a piece including ticket fees.  It’s nice to see someone do this considering what most acts charge these days.
  2. Beating Ticket Scalpers - They restricted online sales to residents in the area here and the wristband system  used for buying tickets in person did a good job of discouraging people camping out for tickets.  It may not of been a perfect but it was definitely better than I’ve seen anyone else do lately.
  3. Adding 8 Shows After the 1st Sold Out - Lets be honest, Garth didn’t have to add 8 additional shows, but he did for his fans because he wanted to make sure that everyone that wanted to see the show had a chance to.

Overall he did an excellent job of trying to accommodate everyone that wanted to see the show for an affordable price.  I know I’m super excited to see the show in November and I’m sure it will be a great time.

Garth Brooks is an exceptional performer, and he knows how to do business. I actually saw him in concert at the State Fair of Texas back in 1990.

We were able to get right down in front of the stage for the free concert. It was free because he was just getting started at the time. The crowd grew quickly, and y the start of the concert, the whole area was completely packed.

When Garth first came out on stage, he said, “Are all of you here to see me?” I think he was beginning to see where his career was headed.

That was probably the best concert I’ve ever attended. Garth is a true entertainer. Even if you’re not a fan of country music, I’m sure you’ll enjoy his show.

Gary,

Thanks for stopping by. I’ve actually heard that Garth puts on quite a show, so I’m definitely pretty excited to see him for the first time!
