Build a Custom Wordpress Theme, With No Design Skills…

Ok, so lets face it not everyone is a great designer that can build or customize their own Wordpress theme to fit their tastes. However most people would like to have a blog design that stands out and distinguishes them from the rest of the crowd.

I actually came across this really cool WP Theme Generator the other day that basically lets you pick out the color scheme and layout to be applied to your own custom theme.  Once your done choosing everything you want then you can just export the theme and simply upload it to your Wordpress installation and your ready to go!

So now really you’ve got no limits as to what you can put out there for your own blog. You can choose the most hideous color scheme around and this tool gives you the creative freedom to be able to do that.  So if your looking for an easy way to quickly customize a Wordpress theme for yourself then I would definitely check out the WP Theme Generator.

That is a pretty neat tool. It’s amazing to me how ‘automated’ web design is becoming. Looking at tools like this, and tools like Jumpchart, it’s getting easier and easier to build a website without skills or a designer. I imagine in the not-too-distant future these tools will become more sophisticated to the point to where you can do almost anything without knowing one line of HTML.

Interesting tool, great for beginners but if you are a serious blogger it wouldn’t really work.

Anthony,

It is amazing the amount of automated design tools that are coming out on the market. I’d like to think that down the road you’ll still need code and design skills to develop truly unique design and a positive user experience.

Hi Thomas,

Thanks for stopping by. Your definitely right, it does work great for beginners but its definitely not something developed for the serious blogger.
