Ok, I know I’ve hardly been posting anything on here lately, but thats going to change in the coming weeks. I’ve been working on buying a house and I was busy most of this weekend with a friend’s wedding so my time has been limited this month. I’m shooting to have my new design for this blog up towards the end of this month, so be on the lookout for that.
Anyways on to the topic of this post. Earlier this year I saw several bloggers that wrote posts relating to “5 things you didn’t know about me”. After I read alot of these I thought that most were very interesting and I always planned on writing one myself, but I never got around to it until now. So here is my list of 5 Things You Didn’t Know About Me before reading this.
- I absolutely love Mexican food and could probably eat it almost everyday and not ever get sick of it. A couple of personal favorites here in Kansas City are Jalepenos and Jose Peppers. Also I can’t forget Chipotle Mexican Grill as they have some of the best burritos around. If you don’t have a Chipotle where you live, I really do feel sorry for you.
- I really don’t watch a whole lot of sports like I used to, but I’ve been a Cincinnati Bengals fan since I was in the 3rd grade. Even though they were pretty bad for about 14 years, I stuck with them and I’m happy to see them doing well again.
- I’m really a pretty opinionated person when it comes right down to it. I guess the bottom line is if I think something sucks I’m definitely going to express my thoughts about it and try not to hold anything back.
- I love to listen to good music. Notice I included the word good in that last statement. When I was younger I listened to a lot of rap music and I still do, but it mainly consists of the same stuff I listened to when I was younger. Right know I also listen to a ton of alternative music and in my opinion Kansas City has one of the best alternative radio stations around 96.5 The Buzz. I grew up in the 90’s so I guess you could say I’m biased, but I think some absolutely fantastic music came out during that time. In addition to that I also listen to some older stuff as well and occasionally I might like a country song and I guess I’ve got my wife to thank for that.
- After high school I never went to the traditional four years of college like most people I know did. At that time in my life I was young and more interested in getting out of school quick and getting out into the world to make some money. As a result I chose to go to some ridiculous fly by night IT training school, that really didn’t give me much opportunity at all for the money I paid. It was probably one of the biggest mistakes I’ve ever made and I really was hard on myself for quite a long time after that for making such a poor decision regarding my future. Quite honestly that mistake was probably one of the best things that could have happened to me when I look back on it. It taught me alot about myself and put a lot of things in prospective for me in life. Several times I thought that because I didn’t take the traditional college route it would make me less successful in life. Now I don’t know why I ever thought that, because honestly I’ve worked my ass off the last 7 years of my life and in my opinion I’ve created a pretty good life for myself and I did it without a college degree that I once thought made me a failure if I didn’t have. I’m not discounting anyone who goes out and earns their degree, because most of them take a lot of work and I applaud anyone who does it. The real deal is that even if you have a degree then you still have to go out and prove yourself in the real world. Over the last few years I’ve run into some extremely intelligent people with and without degrees and I also had the pleasure of meeting some people with degrees that are just an absolute joke. So in the end, maybe I’ll go back and get my degree one day and maybe I won’t, but I’ll never make the mistake of thinking by having it will make or break me when it comes to me being successful in life.
So there you have it, now you know some stuff about me that you didn’t before reading this post.

I already knew all of those things about you! Ha! Just kidding. As for the Bengals, I personally think they need to spend more time on the field & not as much time in jail. Sorry I missed your call the other day. I’ve been swamped this week. I’ll call you tonight. Later.
I can identify with you on the Mexican food thing, but the rap music……..old or new, not me.
Pat,
They definitely do need to try and stay out of jail this year. If they can do that then they’ll be one step ahead of last year!
Anthony,
Glad hear someone enjoys Mexican food like me, even though you don’t get into some of the same types of music.
